Silver flatware has a long history, and many silver makers have made silver flatware over the years. As you can probably imagine, there are a variety of brands out there that make silver flatware, and there have been many more brands over the years that have shut down. If it's made from silver, it has value at Greenbrier Pawn, so don't worry about that. But if you're wondering about the brands that we see the most, or if you're interested in buying silver flatware for yourself and are wondering which brands you should be looking at, there are four that we see the most. Learn more about these brands below.

Gorham Silver Flatware
Gorham was one of the first, largest, and most popular silver brands in the United States for quite some time. It was first established in Rhode Island, and when it was first opened, the company primarily made spoons out of coin silver. Of course, they did make some other products -- like thimbles and even jewelry -- but silverware has pretty much always been the biggest part of their business. Gorham silver is still used in the White House today.
Towle
Towle was opened in Massachusetts in 1690 and is one of the oldest brands in the United States. The company does make a variety of other silver products, but silverware has always been a big part of their business. Towle silverware is still in production today, and you can find classic styles or more modern styles -- it's truly up to you.
Reed & Barton
Reed & Barton was founded in the 1890s and remained under the same name until 2015, when it was purchased by The Lenox Company. Like Gorham, their products are used in the White House. One interesting thing about Reed & Barton is their participation in the 1996 Olympics, which were hosted in Atlanta, Georgia. The company was tasked with designing and manufacturing the silver, gold, and bronze medals.
Wallace
Unlike some other silver companies, Wallace's primary focus has always been silver flatware, with minimal attention put into making other silver products. This is another old American company: it was established in 1879 in Connecticut. This company still produces silver flatware and is a great option to consider if you're in the market to buy silver flatware.
